Make a Real Difference

Part of being an overcomer is about changing the situation you’re facing from something challenging to something positive and, hopefully, something that makes a real difference in the world.

That’s why I love what Adidas did by partnering with ocean advocacy nonprofit, Parley for the Oceans. Over 5 trillion pieces of plastic litter our oceans, and plastic does not bio-degrade like natural materials (and sea animals often mistake it for food). Recycling is the first step in breaking the cycle, and these two companies have come together to create solutions.

Parley Ocean Plastic® is created from upcycled marine plastic waste that is intercepted on remote islands and beaches and in coastal communities and turned into high-performance polyester yarn. Then that yarn is used to create adidas x Parley sportswear. What a great way for a nonprofit and a brand to partner together for real change!
