Day One of the Paris 2024 Olympics

Day one of the Paris 2024 Olympics is in the books! And what a day it was.

Many of you may not know that I got the exciting chance to attend this summer’s Olympics with some of my dear friends. The Olympics is very dear to my heart, as I worked on the Nagano and Salt Lake Olympics while working for Coca-Cola. So to return to the Olympics game in Paris has been such a grand experience!

We had the best day Thursday at the Roland Garros Stadium, which is home to the French Open. We got to watch Stefanos Tsitsipas compete against Novak Djokovic. Djokovic won 6-4, 7-6. We walked the hallowed grounds, then went by a monument to Rafael Nadal who won 14 championships here! One of the most enjoyable parts of going to Roland Garros was meeting a family from Germany. They had just flown into France yesterday like we did. We hung out with them after the matches ended because there was a terrific rainstorm. Though we were all just trying to stay dry until the rain stopped, we still made friends.

Friday we watched boxing. Each round is just three minutes, and we watched the women and then the men. We saw a female boxer from Brazil who was amazing. What an excellent fight!
